This is a tropical island study I did during my free time this winter .
The process was simple, I tried to get a realistic looking island without the use of photos. So I used Vue as a base, rendering multiple passes, like clear sand, textured sand, trees, underwater vegetation, corals etc. and then a lot of painting and color correction on top. Photo reference was used only for the sky and distant sea.
